We touched down in Singapore mad late on our last trip. We settled into our hotel at about 2 am, but we weren’t ready to call it a night yet. We debated between hawker centers or late night Thai spots, but we settled on Thai food. If you’re ever craving Thai while in Singapore, the Golden Mile Complex has got your back. This building is essentially the Little Thailand of Singapore. We rolled in just before 3 am and this building was bumping with Thai locals getting turnt up in the clurbs and eventually spilling over to the Thai restaurants just steps away in the Golden Mile Complex.
There were still a few restaurants open, but Diandin Leluk seemed to attract the biggest crowd with a majority being sober locals which seemed to be a good sign. Occupying an open space, the restaurant is brightly lit with grilled skewers up front and fridges full of Thai desserts and coconuts. The menu is comprehensive with a selection of tangy salads, spicy curries, seafood galore, deep fried everything, fried noodles, hearty rice dishes, stir-fried veggies, traditional desserts and more. We sampled a few of the classic Thai dishes and were definitely impressed!
Thai Tea (S$1.50 or $1.20). I love Thai tea and order it every chance I get. Diandin Leluk’s Thai tea was on the sweet side though. I’d fux wid it again, but I’d order it with half the amount of sugar.
Chicken Feet Salad (S$8.00 or $6.40). If you’re into chicken feet, you’ll love Thai chicken feet salad. The bones are removed, so you can eat the whole thing without having to spit out the bones. The chicken feet salad here was delicious and tender, but they went H.A.M. on the chili peppers. So if you can’t handle heat, make sure you tell them to take it easy with the peppers.
Stir-Fried Morning Glory (S$8.00 or $6.40). The morning glory was tasty, but way too salty.
Oyster Omelet (S$9.00 or $7.20). The oyster omelet was the best thing we ate at this joint. It was light, fluffy with a crispy crust loaded with small yet plump and juicy oysters.
Bobo Chacha (S$3.00 or $2.40). This colorful dessert consists of coconut milk, steamed yam, sweet potato, colorful tapioca cubes, cendol (green coconut/pandan jellies), and sago. It is super refreshing and the perfect way to end a spicy Thai meal.
There are a few different locations in Singapore. This is the location at the Golden Mile Complex.
